Commissioned by the County
of Kern in August of 2015, a random telephone survey of 600 county residents, which consisted of 25 questions helped examine public attitudes and perceptions regarding library programs and services in Kern County.
The Friends of the Library raise money with Used Book Sales, members’ dues and donations, and through special events to help support and fund Library programs, such as the Summer Reading Challenge and author events.
Formed in 1986, the Kern County Library Foundation raises funds to enhance and enrich the Kern County Library. The Foundation has helped develop the California Fine Arts Collection at the Beale Memorial Library, Recently, the Foundation helped implement digital signage.
The Center provides assistance to veterans and their families through the providing of books, DVDs, and pamphlets and also through trained volunteers that work to connect veterans to benefits and resources.
