Become a Friend

The Friends of the Kern County Library, Inc. is a non-profit organization that supports the goal of excellent library service and resources for all the people of Kern County. With used book and magazine sales and through other activities, the Friends of the Kern County Library, Inc. helps endorse programs, the purchase of library materials, funds for the countywide Summer Reading Program, and more. Additionally, there are also local Friends groups for many of the Kern County Library individual branches. Learn more about the Friends.

Volunteer

Library volunteers assist staff through Computer Coaching, Skill Sharing, Shelving, and more. To learn more about how to apply to volunteer or types of opportunities, visit our Volunteering page.

Donate

The Kern County Library accepts monetary donations, as well as books and materials donations.

It’s easy to donate! You can make a general donation, or donate specifically to Adult Fiction, Adult Non-Fiction, Audiovisual Materials, Children’s Fiction, Children’s Non-Fiction, Large Print Materials, Operations, Programming, or Young Adult Materials.

For Customer ID, enter your name. If you wish your donation to be used towards a specific need as described above, then enter that information with your name in the Customer ID field.
