A personal academic coach will be assigned to you and help you succeed. You will have 24/7 access to your online classroom.

  • It may be possible for you to transfer credits from previously completed accredited high school courses, shortening your completion time.
  • You earn both a high school diploma and a certificate in your chosen career area.
  • You will create a career portfolio containing important job documents, such as your resume and cover letters.

How It Works

Step 1: Take the online self-assessment, select Kern County Library as your library. Once completed, you will be contacted by a Kern County Library staff member to proceed.

Step 2: Enroll in and complete a pre-requisite course in two weeks or less.

Step 3: Congratulations! A Kern County Library staff member will contact you for an interview. Successful interviewers will be notified if they have received the Library scholarship.

Who Can Enroll

This program is for adults 19 and older with a library card in good standing, that are interested in pursuing their high school diploma and live within Kern County, California. Participants that complete the self-assessment, the pre-requisite course, and the interview successfully will be contacted by library staff and be informed if they have received a library scholarship.
